SOLAR WATER PUMP

Solar Water Pump Systems

Solar water pumping designed from water source, head, pipe distance, required flow and use area for farms, irrigation, community water and off-grid sites.

CHALLENGE

Start from the problem that actually needs solving

Choosing a pump by horsepower or price alone is not enough. Water systems depend on source, elevation, pipe distance, friction and required flow.

Best suited to: Farms, orchards, fish ponds, irrigation, community water systems and off-grid areas

ENGINEERING APPROACH

Collect the right data before selecting equipment

  • Identify the water source: bore well, pond, canal or river
  • Collect water level, delivery height, pipe length and diameter
  • Define daily/minute water demand and service area
  • Review existing pump, destination system, shading and panel location
Solar-powered water pumping system

SCOPE

A practical scope for the first site discussion

  • Water-system and location survey
  • Pump, controller, panel and pipe concept design
  • High-tank, drip or sprinkler integration as needed
  • Installation, flow testing and handover

OUTCOME

What should become clearer after the site survey

  • Know the inputs engineers need before selecting a pump
  • See the full path from water source to destination
  • Reduce the risk of equipment selection without real head and flow data
Equipment, warranty, timeline and pricing are confirmed from verified site information and the final project quotation.

Frequently asked questions

Questions before a Solar Water Pump site survey

Can it be used with a bore well?

It can be considered, but working water level, delivery height, pipe length/diameter and required flow should be known so the pump and solar system can be matched correctly.

Can it work where grid electricity is unavailable?

Solar can be the primary energy source for pumping in off-grid areas, but the design must be based on required water volume, operating time and real water-source constraints.

Can I request a survey if I do not know the head yet?

Yes. Start with the location, water-source photos, destination and approximate distance. The team can identify what additional measurements are needed.

Does a solar water pump always need a battery?

Not always. If pumping is mainly during daylight and water can be stored in a tank or reservoir, water storage may replace energy storage. A battery is considered when pumping is required without sunlight or for specific operating needs.

Is the pump horsepower alone enough for design?

No. Pumps with the same horsepower can deliver different flow at different heads. Pump model, water level, delivery height, pipe length and diameter, and required water volume should be reviewed together.
