This article is introductory guidance for preparing a project discussion, not a site-specific engineering design or performance guarantee.

Static head

In simple terms, static head is the elevation difference from the water level to the delivery point. For bore wells, working water level matters more than bore depth alone.

Why pipe distance matters

Flow through a pipe loses pressure from friction. Longer pipes, smaller diameters and more fittings increase those losses.

Total Dynamic Head

Engineering design considers static head together with pipe losses and any required destination pressure to select the pump operating point.

Measurements to prepare

Record water level, highest delivery point, pipe length, pipe diameter, major fittings and required flow. If values are uncertain, photos and coordinates can still start the survey.

You can start even if the information is incomplete

An electricity bill, board photo, roof photo, water-source photo or site pin is enough to start a more focused conversation.
