Start with the car and charging pattern
Review the vehicle, supported charging power, daily travel and how long the car is normally parked at home.
Check the home electrical system
Confirm single/three-phase supply, main breaker, existing loads and available board capacity because the charger is a sustained electrical load.
Cable route and protection
Distance from the board to the parking position affects cable sizing, installation method and cost. Protection should be designed with the circuit.
Solar integration
If rooftop solar exists or is planned, charging can be considered together with daytime solar production and other building loads.
